NAVISTAR - COOLING TOWER AND PUMP REPLACEMENT
At Navistar’s International Truck Assembly Line Facility, the original four cell, wood cooling tower was replaced with four new cross flow cooling towers as well as the existing condenser water pumps. In addition, the existing 2-pipe system chilled and hot water pumps were replaced. These items serve heating and cooling system for the main 1.4 million square foot assembly line building.
NZ Engineering utilized new energy efficient pump technology to cut the existing system pump sizes in half. The condenser water pumps went from 200 HP to 100HP and the chilled-hot water system pumps went from 150 HP to 75 HP. The new cooling towers were also equipped with variable speed motors allowing the condenser water system to operate more efficiently and at a precise capacity versus a staged method of operation.
